Michael is an experienced succession and property lawyer and has served the Western Australian community as a legal practitioner for over 27 years at Curae Law.  Michael has represented clients, both in and out of court, in matters spanning property, family, wills and estates law.

Michael led the firm’s transition to a NewLaw model in 2011, which included establishing the successful brands Flat Rate Settlements, Perth Probate Centre, Perth Wills Centre, and Get Paid Debt Collection (and previously Resolution Family Law).  These brands disrupted the legal services market in Western Australia and they continue to solve everyday legal problems by offering practical solutions, advertised fixed prices and innovative service delivery.

Michael believes that building a strong and vibrant culture is the cornerstone to building a strong law firm.  The foundation of a good culture is enduring and meaningful one-on-one relationships built on key principles of collegiality, respect and mutual trust, care and wanting the best for others and creating genuine opportunity and responsibility for professionals to grow and develop their skills.  A commitment to these ideals has seen Michael contribute to the legal profession through the mentoring and supervision of younger professionals over a long period of time.

Michael graduated with degrees in Law and Commerce from Murdoch University and joined the firm as an articled clerk in 1996.  He was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 1997.

Michael is a clarinet player with the Fremantle Chamber Orchestra, OpusWA Arts Orchestra and Chorale and the Fremantle Symphony Orchestra and has appeared as soloist with many Perth orchestras.  A firm believer in the importance of community service, Michael also serves as a volunteer in several community groups.
